Where the race lives
The Circuit of the Americas opened in 2012, a purpose-built 5.513 km track in the hills southeast of Austin. The signature uphill to Turn 1 climbs 41 metres in 270 metres of asphalt, then drops sharply into the Esses inspired by Silverstone's Maggotts-Becketts.
