Where the race lives
Lusail International Circuit is 5.419 km of high-speed sweepers north of Doha, run for 57 laps under floodlights. Top speeds touch 325 km/h on the front straight, and the long-radius corners through Sectors 2 and 3 punish neck and tyre. The same venue staged the 2022 FIFA World Cup final at Lusail Stadium next door.
Why this race matters
Lusail is the fastest, most physically demanding lap on the calendar after Suzuka. Drivers lose 2 to 3 kg in race weight, the FIA introduced mandatory pit stops in 2023 for tyre safety, and the night-race spectacle under the lights is among the most filmable on tour.
